Barbie as The Princess and The Pauper

Let’s talk about my favorite Barbie movie of all time… πŸ’–πŸ‘‘πŸŽΆ

Barbie as The Princess and The Pauper.

This movie is pure comfort and nostalgia for me. Everything about it is beautiful — the story, the songs, the characters, and the message behind it. It’s one Barbie film I never get tired of watching no matter how many times I’ve seen it. ✨

“The Cat’s Meow,” “Free,” and “I Am a Girl Like You” are still some of the best songs in any Barbie movie, and honestly… they’re iconic. πŸŽ΅πŸ’•

What I love most is how this film shows that your worth doesn’t come from your title, your money, or where you come from. Even though Anneliese was a princess and Erika was poor, they were both kind, brave, and strong in their own ways. That message always stayed with me.

This movie will forever have a special place in my heart. πŸ’—

A true Barbie classic.

Children stories I would still read today

Some books never leave your heart. πŸ“š✨

The stories I loved as a child still bring me comfort today, and I find myself rereading them just to reconnect with that simpler, happier time in my life. There’s something so special about opening a book and instantly feeling like a kid again. 🀍

And honestly… they’re still just really good books. Some stories truly are timeless. πŸŒΏπŸ“–

I love Biscuit, Frog and Toad, Barbie, Little Bear, Dick and Jane, Little Critter, Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman, and many more...

My sister owned these, and I read all the ones that are highlighted.

I loved this one and Huck Finn too

This was one of my all time favorites

I remember loving the children's school books of Little Critter. I was homeschooled so I had a lot of Little Critter school books.

Frog and Toad was my favorite at ages 6-11

Arnold Lobel was my favorite author for most my childhood years.

This one was SO good.

I loved these Barbie books because they were real Barbie dolls in the pictures.

From 11 to now, I LOVED and love Jennie McGrady.
These are my favorite mystery novels ever. I also loved Helena Bradly
by the same author.

The First Book I Ever Read

My favorite Barbie book that I read.

Around Green Hills was a storybook full of short stories.
I loved the ones about the twins.

Around Green Hills was SO fun to read.

Another book of Frog and Toad

Biscuit was my favorite dog books.

Why I Still Watch Childhood Movies as an Adult

There’s something special about watching movies from your childhood. As adults, life gets busy, stressful, and complicated. But sometimes, all it takes is one familiar movie to take you back to a simpler time.

The movies I still watch today aren’t just films to me — they’re memories. They remind me of where I was in life when I first watched them.

What I love most is the feeling of comfort they bring. Even though I’ve seen them a hundred times, they never get old.

It’s like stepping into a time machine for a couple of hours.

As we grow older, nostalgia becomes more meaningful. Childhood movies remind us of innocence, joy, and moments when life felt lighter. Sometimes when the world feels overwhelming, I turn on one of those movies just to reconnect with my childhood.

I think that’s why certain movies stay with us forever. They become part of our story.

So yes, I still watch childhood movies as an adult — and honestly, I probably always will. ❤️🎬

I loved the secret admirer Barbie has in this film.
I thought it was a good movie.
πŸŽΆYou're on my island, the trees say hello. 🎢
I loved this when I was little.
I loved to pretend I was on an island with animal friends.

I watched this as a teenager. It inspired me to want a podcast.
Garfield was SO funny to me as a kid. I loved it!
I watched this when I was a teenager. I LOVED the relationship between Aunt Bea and Ramona. It reminds me of the relationship I had with my niece. My name was Aunt Bea to her too! :)
I LOVED her doll, Molly. I wanted her as a kid.
I loved this show. But for some reason, I only saw a couple of episodes.

I watched Babar on Qubo. Which was a kid's TV channel that I LOVED!
I loved the episode of Miss Blueberry being SO blue.

I loved the episode where they were inside Arnold's stomach.
I found it SO fascinating as a kid.
My favorite Barbie Film of ALL TIME.
I still remember the Barbie party my sister and I had in honor of this movie.
We got stuff to eat, and we decorated for it.
Then we watched the movie at our little party.
It was just my sister and me. But we had SO much fun.

I love this movie and watched it a lot while I was falling asleep.
One of my favorite Disney films

I love collecting DVDs heres why

I Love Collecting DVDs Instead of Paying for Streaming Services — Here’s Why

I still love collecting DVDs, and honestly, I don’t think that will ever change. These days, everyone seems to depend on streaming services, but I’d rather actually own the movies I love.

One big reason is simple: when you buy a DVD, that movie is yours. You can watch it anytime you want. Streaming services are always removing movies and adding different ones. One month your favorite film is there, and the next month it’s gone. There’s no guarantee it will stay available.

With DVDs, I never have to worry about that. I can walk over to my shelf, pick a movie, and watch it whenever I want. No searching through apps, no surprise removals, and no paying for five different subscriptions just to maybe find one movie. Also, a lot of streaming services have ads. By owning your own movies, you don't have to have ads interrupting your movie at any time.

Sure, collecting DVDs is not exactly a minimalist lifestyle, but honestly, I don’t care. I enjoy having a real collection. I like seeing the cases lined up on my shelf, and I love knowing those movies are truly mine.

In a world where everything is becoming digital and temporary, owning physical movies still feels special to me.
